In sql server 2008 on a subscriber of a merge replication, the following message in the synchornization status is stuck at:

"Extracting snapshot file from cabinet file"
This happens when the snapshot.pre in the cabinet file is corrupted.
Copy it manually and make sure it is not 0 size
